Trenton, NJ - According to Tome Bergeron, "Macrocure, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Israel, appears to be closer to moving its headquarters to New Jersey. The Economic Development Authority awarded Grow NJ tax credits for up to $3.2 million over 10 years for Macrocure to establish its North American headquarters at the EDA’s Technology Centre of New Jersey in North Brunswick. The EDA previously had approved a 10-year, three-month lease at the Centre.

Founded in 2001 with regional headquarters in Houston, Texas; Sion, Switzerland; and Perth, Australia, ITC Global serves customers at more than 1,200 remote sites across 70 countries and all the world’s oceans. Panasonic, through its subsidiary Panasonic Avionics Corporation, is a provider of inflight communications and entertainment systems to the aviation market."

New Brunswick, NJ - Johnson & Johnson Innovation said it has launched 17 collaborations with research institutions and healthcare companies, bringing to more than 200 the total number of collaborations formed since its 2013 launch.

So named because they can involve adding a special check box to tax forms, the goal of patent boxes is to spur commercialization of research and development by allowing corporate income from the sale of patented products to be taxed at a lower rate than other income.
