The key resource for businesses who want to partner with Rutgers is the website, http://businessportal.rutgers.edu/, which directs businesses to university assets for research, licensing, training and recruiting.
The university has a corporate engagement team of experienced private-sector professionals who know Rutgers’ assets and capabilities and also know how businesses like to interact with universities.
"Businesses are not aware of the full range of what Rutgers can offer," Molloy said. "For example, the university’s chemistry department has the largest research budget for a chemistry department in the United States."
"Molloy, who previously served as dean of the university’s School of Pharmacy and worked for Johnson & Johnson, emphasized that Rutgers wants to work with fledgling businesses, especially those in the pharmaceutical industry."
He said that in the future he envisions an “innovation park” on a corner of the university’s Piscataway campus where the university could partner with a private developer.
