Washington D.C. - The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) released a combined synopsis/solicitation with the intention of awarding up to three contracts for entities to head regional innovation cluster initiatives. SBA intends to make three awards including one to an entity that will provide cluster initiative services to a community affected by changes in the coal economy.

As of last week, the Securities and Exchange Commission adopted final rules to facilitate smaller companies’ access to capital through Title IV of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act.
Washington D.C. - According to the State Science and Technology Institute (SSTI), "The Securities and Exchange Commission adopted final rules to update and expand Regulation A, an existing exemption from registration for smaller issuers of securities. The new Regulation A+ will enable smaller companies to offer and sell up to $50 million of securities in a 12-month period, subject to eligibility, disclosure and reporting requirements."
