New Brunswick, NJ - Rutgers University Cell and DNA Repository (RUCDR) Infinite Biologics , BioRealm, LLC, and – Affymetrix, Inc. announced a broad strategic alliance. This alliance will leverage BioRealm's SmokeScreen® platform to genotype the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) biorepository of more than 50,000 samples, collected from human subjects studied in NIDA-funded research. NIDA preserves these samples in a biorepository at RUCDR Infinite Biologics, on the campus of Rutgers University.

Newark, NJ - In recognition of a strong commitment to economic engagement, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) today designated New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in the 2015 class of Innovation & Economic Prosperity Universities. The designation acknowledges NJIT as working with public and private sector partners in New Jersey and its surrounding region to support economic development through a variety of activities, including innovation and entrepreneurship, technology transfer, talent and workforce development, and community development.
Newark, NJ - Newark could get its first new medical school in 50 years under an unusual proposal by Rowan University and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Rowan wants to open a branch of its School of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Camden County, on NJIT's Newark campus, university officials said. The new school could eventually enroll 200 future doctors.

Capuano, currently the university provost and senior vice president for academic affairs and the university’s second ranking officer, has been appointed the university’s next president.
