Rutgers University-New Brunswick students and graduates earned 14 Fulbright grants during the current academic year. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is sponsored by the Department of State and awards about 1,500 grants to recent graduates and graduate students to research, study and teach in more than 140 countries, Rutgers said.
Most students who apply are seniors nearing graduation, but graduates and alumni are also eligible. The Fulbright Student Program provides grants for individually designed study or research projects or for English teaching assistant programs. Recipients work, learn and live among the people of the country hosting them.
