Hackensack, NJ – According to New Jersey Business Magazine, “Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, and John Theurer Cancer Center, part of Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, have announced that they have developed a joint cancer research agenda as part of a multi-year plan to form a National Cancer Institute (NCI) recognized cancer consortium. This recognition would support the scientific excellence of the two centers along with their capability to integrate multi-disciplinary, collaborative research approaches to focus on all the aspects of cancer.

The VR Center also includes a new custom-designed, 15,000+ cubic-foot VR collaborative environment, which features a 7-foot-high by 40-foot-wide curved wall of screens that provides an area well-suited for collaborative projects.

Ridgewood, NJ - According to Darius Amos, "Thanks in part to a large donation, learning at the Ridgewood middle school level is about to step into the future. The Ridgewood Education Foundation (REF) has awarded an $85,000 leadership grant to the Board of Education to "kick off the renovation of science classrooms" at George Washington and Benjamin Franklin middle schools, according to REF Board of Trustees President Jennie Smith Wilson."

Capuano, currently the university provost and senior vice president for academic affairs and the university’s second ranking officer, has been appointed the university’s next president. Capuano, 57, will serve as president-elect during the 2015-2016 academic year and will become the university’s eighth president on July 1, 2016, when current President Sheldon Drucker will retire.”

New Brunswick, NJ - The Rutgers University Board of Governors has approved Rutgers 2030, the most comprehensive physical master plan in the university’s history. The long-term plan envisions development at Rutgers University – Camden, Rutgers University – Newark and Rutgers University – New Brunswick. The decision was guided by the priorities of the university’s Strategic Plan – which was approved in 2014 – and incorporates Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS).
