Which N.J. companies made the Inc. 5000 fastest-growth list?

Trenton, NJ - According to Eric Strauss, "Inc. revealed its annual Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America this month, and 143 New Jersey firms earned a place on the list. They ranged in size from $2 million in revenue to more than $400 million, and some had revenue growth in the quadruple digit percentages."

Trenton, NJ - Two small business clients of America’s SBDC New Jersey, president and CEO Brian A. Leuthner of Edge Therapeutics, Inc. and founder and CEO Dr. Pankaj Mohan of Oncobiologics Inc., were named finalists in the Ernst Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2015) New Jersey. Leuthner of Edge Therapeutics advanced to be one of several winners of this prestigious award. The award program is co-sponsored by The Kauffman Foundation.

NJ's Top Colleges According to Forbes

Trenton, NJ - Forbes released its annual list of Top Colleges last week and three of New Jersey's academic institutions made the top 200. Princeton University ranked 4th, Rutgers University ranked 146th and The College of New Jersey ranked 182nd. Pomona College in California taking the top slot and Williams College and Stanford University listed as second and third, respectively.

Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ Physicians Named Among Tops by 'Newsweek'

New Brunswick, N.J. – Several physicians at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey have been named as a ‘Top Cancer Doctor’ by Newsweek magazine.  Newsweek just released the list of the nation’s top physicians for cancer care in conjunction with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., which publishes America’s Top Doctors. Based on peer nominations, attributes such as board certification, clinical skills, training, years in practice, administrative posts, achievements and other criteria are reviewed and assessed by a physician-led research team assembled by Castle Connolly.  According to Castle Connolly, nearly 100,000 nominations are received each year for the honor. In New Jersey alone, 40 Top Cancer Doctors were named to the national list – nine are from the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Trenton, NJ - According to Josh Burd of NJBiz, "It might be tough to quantify the volume of fiber in Newark, but New Jersey's prowess as a state is well-documented. The Garden State, which has 17 fiber providers, is third in the country when it comes to the percentage of population covered by fiber, according to broadbandnow.com.With about 63 percent of its population covered, it sits behind only Rhode Island (98 percent) and Oregon (77 percent).

To Fischell, developing medical devices is a family affair. David, along with his father Dr. Robert Fischell, a physicist, and his brother Dr. Tim Fischell, a cardiologist, started New Providence-based Svelte Medical Systems in 2007.

Legislative Update: Permitting Intrastate Crowdfunding Heads to Governor’s Desk

Trenton, NJ – Legislation that would change New Jersey laws and regulations to help businesses take advantage of crowdfunding passed the Senate last Thursday. Specifically, S-712/A-2073 would provide exemptions from registration with the NJ Bureau of Securities for companies that want to offer intrastate crowdfunding investment opportunities. The total investment cannot exceed $1 million, and the investment from any single purchaser is capped at $5,000.
