NJIT Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense Education

Newark, NJ - The National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have designated NJIT as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense Education through the 2020 academic year. NSA and DHS jointly sponsor CAE with the goal to reduce vulnerability in the national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research, and producing a growing pipeline of professionals with information assurance expertise in various disciplines.

Newark, NJ - Have you ever downloaded a new app and thought, “I could have done better?” Well, here’s your chance. NJ MarketShift, needs your input to refine a new web application we are developing. The app would answer questions about markets, customers, suppliers and partners in the A&D industries. Rowan Plans to Open Med School at NJIT

Newark, NJ - Newark could get its first new medical school in 50 years under an unusual proposal by Rowan University and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Rowan wants to open a branch of its School of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Camden County, on NJIT's Newark campus, university officials said. The new school could eventually enroll 200 future doctors.

NJIT Professor Earns Patent for Next Generation Water Filter

Newark, NJ - Somenath Mitra, distinguished professor of chemistry and environmental science, was awarded a patent last month for a next-generation water desalination and purification technology that uses uniquely absorbent carbon nanotubes to remove salt and pollutants from brackish water and industrial effluent for reuse by businesses and households.
