Newark, NJ - The National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have designated NJIT as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense Education through the 2020 academic year. NSA and DHS jointly sponsor CAE with the goal to reduce vulnerability in the national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research, and producing a growing pipeline of professionals with information assurance expertise in various disciplines.

Moorestown, NJ – According to New Jersey Business magazine, “Lockheed Martin, with large facilities in Moorestown (in addition to other locations in the state), has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sikorsky Aircraft, a world leader in military and commercial rotary-wing aircraft, for $9.0 billion. The price is effectively reduced to approximately $7.1 billion, after taking into account tax benefits resulting from the transaction.”
Mikros Systems Corporation Purchases Software Products and Related Assets From VSE Corporation7/20/2015 Princeton, NJ – According to New Jersey Business magazine, “Mikros Systems Corporation, a high-technology electronics company which designs and manufactures custom systems for defense applications, announced that it has recently purchased certain software products, intellectual property and related assets from VSE Corporation, which has a New Jersey field office in Sparta. The primary software programs purchased by Mikros are the Prognostics Framework (PF) and Diagnostic Profiler (DP) programs.”
Glassboro, NJ - The VR Center comprises an R&D VR lab, opened in 2008, a data wall for programing and design development, and prototyping capabilities. The VR Center also includes a new custom-designed, 15,000+ cubic-foot VR collaborative environment, which features a 7-foot-high by 40-foot-wide curved wall of screens that provides an area well-suited for collaborative projects.
