Trenton, NJ - According to Eric Strauss of NJBiz, AT&T announced Wednesday that it has a new regional president for the Northeast, a region that includes New Jersey and is headquartered in Bedminster. Jennifer Van Buskirk, who had served as president of AT&T-owned prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless, takes over for Steven J. Hodges, who has been named senior vice president – customer experience, a nationwide executive position.
“Jennifer is a proven leader who embraces change and energizes people to stay motivated and engaged to create new opportunities and an excellent customer experience for AT&T’s mobility and entertainment businesses,” Glenn Lurie, CEO and president of AT&T Mobility, said in a prepared statement.
In her new role, Van Buskirk is tasked with driving sales growth and overseeing operations for the mobility and entertainment businesses in the region, which includes 14 states and the District of Columbia.
“I’m excited to join this team of world-class employees who provide millions of customers an exceptional wireless experience every day,” she said in a statement. “I look forward to serving our Northeast region customers as our business continues to evolve.”
Van Buskirk, who is relocating to New Jersey with her family, has received honors in her career that include the 2015 Womenetics POW! Hall of Fame; one of the 2015 Influential Women in Wireless by Fierce Wireless; one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by the National Diversity Council; a Top 100 Under 50 from DiversityMBA; and a 2013 Bronze Stevie Award as female executive of the year from Women in Business.
