Employers Return to Northern New Jersey's Hottest Hiring Event

Trenton, NJ - So far, upSKILL has held two successful Speed Interviewing and Networking events: one on May 13 and another on July 28 and August 4. Many of the employers who participated on May 13 were very happy with the candidates they met at the event and so returned for the summer sessions. "The candidate pool was very good, showcasing a wide variety of skills,” said Neeta Maliakal, senior technology recruiter at Prudential, who attended both events. “My colleague and I were very impressed, and Prudential is very committed to being part of the upSKILL program.
Danielle Piccoline, from iconectiv, also attended the May 13 event and returned for the July 28-August 4 event. “What we really liked about connecting with this program is that so many of the positions we look for are ones that require 7-10 years of experience and certifications. So to be able to find those people here that are properly trained and have pretty much everything we’re looking for, that’s a really great thing for our recruitment team,” said Piccoline.

Fran Blanco, principal consultant for eMazzanti, was also impressed. “It was great to see a number of candidates who were really well prepared, who were interested in bringing their careers to another level.”

Although a good number of the recruiters were looking to fill immediate openings, others were on the lookout for near-future needs. “We met upSKILL candidates who are qualified, who we put into our database, who come up in our searches, and are professional and qualified and ready to go,” said Rahul Srinivasan, account manager at Rangam Consultants Inc.

The next Speed Interviewing and Networking event will be held on October 29 in the NJIT Atrium.
