3rd Annual New Jersey Immigrant Entrepreneur Award Winners Chosen

Ewing, NJ - On October 13, 2015 at the MIDCED International Business Expo at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) luncheon from 12:30-2:00 PM, a broad based coalition of New Jersey business and trade organizations will be presenting the third annual New Jersey Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards. The Awards program was created to recognize and honor the past and present contributions of immigrant business owners in the State of New Jersey. The awards are named for great New Jersey immigrant entrepreneurs. 
The 2015 winners, their businesses and their country of origin are:
 
•    2015 Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year
Iftekhar Hossain, IH Engineers, Bangladesh
•    George Perrott Macculloch Award for Leadership
Steve Sun, Genewiz, Inc. China
•    Caspar Wistar Award for Growth 
Sankalp and Trusha Trivedi, Mausam, India
•    Nicholas Marcalus Award for Sustainability 
Barry Zhang, Princetel, Inc., China
•    David Sarnoff Award for Advocacy and Community Engagement
Erik Cedano, GraphiCore, Dominican Republic
•    Albert Einstein Award for Innovation
Tathiana Carrasco, Applique Technologies International, Panama

The many nominees for the awards came from South and Central America, the Middle East and Asia. They hailed from 12 different countries, including Argentina, Bangladesh, China, South Korea, India, Lebanon, Mexico, Israel, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Panama, and Taiwan. They represented small mom and pop businesses as well as large corporations; ranging from high-tech firms to professional service providers, from manufacturing operations to restaurant and financial institutions. Combined, the nominees employ hundreds of people and do millions in sales.
 
The judges for this year's Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards were Jeffrey Vega, President & CEO Princeton Area Community Foundation, John Lau, President Applied Info Partners and winner of the 1st annual Albert Einstein Award for Innovation, and Chandru Rajam, PhD, Vice Provost, Graduate, Professional & Continuing Education, The College of New Jersey.

The third annual awards are sponsored by a broad-based coalition of New Jersey chambers, associations and organizations; including AJC New Jersey,  Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, Diversity Dynamics, Einstein's Alley, MIDCED/MidJersey Chamber of Commerce, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, the Morris County Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce, the New Jersey Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce, the New Jersey Main Street Alliance, the New Jersey Historical Commission, the Statewide Hispanic Chambers of Commerce of New Jersey, Union County Latino-American Chamber of Commerce, and the United Hispanic Chambers of Commerce of New Jersey.
