An Opportunity to Steer Congress Toward Manufacturing

12/6/2015

Washington D.C. - According to the National Association of Manufacturers, "In the coming months, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) will be heavily involved in many issues that are important to manufacturers, including efforts to make the regulatory process less burdensome and more efficient, efforts to ensure that manufacturers have the safe and reliable infrastructure they need and deserve, and pushing for comprehensive tax reform and a national tax policy that ensures domestic manufacturing and job creation are as strong as possible."
It is critical that we are as influential as possible, and that means utilizing every tool at our disposal. One of the most effective tools to influence public policy is a well-regarded constituent with direct ties to elected officials, known as a Key Contact. A well-timed call from a trusted Key Contact to a legislative office can be more influential to a member of Congress than multiple phone calls and letters from unknown constituents. As a Key Contact, your voice carries considerable weight, and in Congress today where division is high and consensus is low, a Key Contact can be the deciding factor on how a policymaker chooses to vote on a piece of legislation.

If you have this type of relationship with a member of Congress, I ask that you consider lending that voice to our collective efforts to advocate and advance a pro-growth agenda.

As a Key Contact, you agree to personally reach out to your elected officials on legislative issues of importance. The NAM will alert you when such action is needed. Being a Key Contact is that simple.

Signing up as a Key Contact can be done quickly and easily by clicking here and selecting the members of Congress with which you have a relationship.

We will not share your relationship with anyone outside of the NAM, nor will we ask you to do anything you do not feel comfortable doing or to advocate positions with which you do not personally agree.

You may also contact NAM Director of Public Affairs and Grassroots Advocacy Christopher Glen at cglen@nam.org or (202) 637-3121 to sign up as a Key Contact or to learn more about the Key Contact program.

Thank you for playing an active role in fighting for the policies that will benefit manufacturers in the United States and the millions of people working to make America strong.
