The Challenge focuses on female entrepreneurs who plan to lead or already lead an entrepreneurial venture that meet its two categories for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Focused on tackling the challenges faced by females in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields, AWIS holds monthly events based on career development and scientific presentations.
The latest challenge also includes access to the AWIS Accelerator, with selected strong applicants having access to 10 months of instructional, technical, and mentorship support.
Either category requires an executive summary of a business plan with the application.
Applications are judged based on well-defined goals, strength of vision, availability of management and skill sets, development of competitive advantages, plans sustainability and growth, an understanding of the market, and the innovation level of the product or service.
The Association for Women in Science is the only national organization that addresses the interests and challenges of all women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
In New Jersey, it holds events approximately monthly, balanced between scientific presentations and career development. In addition, we offer scholarships to young women who are high school seniors planning to study science in college.
