The wide-breadth of topics, including “Strategic Networking,” “Productive Conflict™ Resolution,” “Work and Life in an Innovation Economy,” “Emotional Intelligence” and a “Conversation with STEM Leaders,” stimulated audience engagement and resulted in actionable takeaways.
The Conference also featured an Exhibitor Showcase of nonprofit and professional organizations, as well as networking throughout the day.
“Women in scientific and technology roles need more than technical skills for career growth, we need strong leadership skills, the ability to communicate effectively and develop collaborative teams and be innovative in our solution resolution,” Hart continued. “The program was designed to do just that. Our speakers focused on new skills and knowledge that will help our attendees advance their careers in the laboratory, classroom and boardroom.”
“The conference was excellent,” said Helene Dubrowski, PTC Therapeutics. “I learned so much from the Keynote speakers, panelists and other participants that will help me grow and mature within my company.”
Nini Olson, Patel Consultants said “This has been one of the best conferences that I have been to in a long time!”
“The Inspiring Women in STEM Conference was spectacular! Every speaker was not just great, they were amazing. Every BioNJ event I attend gets better than the one before,” said Catherine Kit Nugent, Students 2 Science, Inc.
One of the many highlights of the program included a candid conversation with two extraordinary STEM luminaries, Dr. Donna Tempel, President and CEO, Drais Pharmaceuticals, and Avis Yates Rivers, President and CEO, Technology Concepts Group, International, who shared their professional journeys and personal examples of leading with inspiration, determination and grace.
This, as well as the other presentations throughout the day, sparked robust conversation, thought sharing and most importantly laughter and camaraderie.
“We thank our speakers, sponsors and all who attended for making this event such a success,” said Vicki Gaddy, Vice President of Talent Services, BioNJ. “A special thank you to Jennifer Kmiec, Founder of Inspiring Women in STEM, for her amazing guidance and Dr. Paul Chew, Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Head of the North American R&D Hub, Sanofi US and his wonderful team for being gracious hosts.”
