New Jersey manufacturers, educators, workforce-development professionals and industry associations are encouraged to attend the event, which will be held on Wednesday, August 23 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at NJIT’s Campus Center, Second-floor Ballroom, 154 Summit Street, Newark, NJ. ManufactureNJ also will host the newly formed New Jersey Legislature’s Manufacturing Caucus, which will hold a public meeting at this event.
The ManfactureNJ Industry Summit will feature presentations by noted speakers on the focus and expectations of New Jersey’s talent networks, manufacturing statistics for New Jersey and updates on targeted industry partnerships. It will include educational and training breakout sessions as well.
Al Stimac, president and CEO of Metal Essence, Inc. and Machining Solutions, LLC and president of the Manufacturers Association of Florida, will provide the keynote address on training and apprenticeship opportunities.
Stimac is a leading speaker on training in the manufacturing industry, and has championed a manufacturing-based economy to businesses, chambers of commerce, and state and federal legislators.
Additionally, Aaron Fichtner, commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, will lead a presentation.
An Apprenticeship Accelerator Program exclusively for attending manufacturers will follow the summit. The program will offer information on how manufacturers can establish apprenticeships and, toward this end, take advantage of the new MechaFORCE Registered Internship Manufacturing Program.
“The ManufactureNJ Industry Summit is a great opportunity for attendees to learn about what education and training providers are doing to meet the labor force needs of New Jersey manufacturers,” said Raymond Vaccari, director, ManufactureNJ.
“They also will have the chance to meet with members of the newly formed New Jersey Legislature’s Manufacturing Caucus to share their concerns and discuss solutions.”
The event is free and breakfast will be sponsored by NJIT, beginning at 8:15. To register, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nj-advanced-manufacturing-talent-network-industry-summit-tickets-36437673061?aff=NJIT.
