Trenton, NJ - Manufacturing in New Jersey means a well-paying job and a pathway to the middle class. So where are all of the job applicants? According to our Manufacturing Outlook Survey, more than 70 percent of manufacturers are looking for new employees and more than 50 percent say the shortage of workers is slowing the delivery of products to market. While there is no shortage of available workers in general, not enough of them have the right skills for modern manufacturing.
Fortunately, NJBIA has helped to build a bridge between the two. We have partnered with manufacturers to develop a training program tailor made for job seekers who are ready to fill positions that are available right now. With the help of the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the state’s county colleges, manufacturers can now avail themselves of the NJBIA Manufacturing Training program. The program takes 10-12 weeks to complete and has a 90 percent placement rate. Successful graduates receive nationally recognized credentials as well as a certificate of competency.
