In this role, Trammell will serve as an economic cluster development bridge between NJII’s Innovation Labs (iLabs) focused on health care delivery systems, bio-pharmaceutical production, civil infrastructure, financial services and defense and homeland security including its New Jersey MarketShift pilot program.
Before assuming his new role, Trammell served for two years as NJII’s director of MechaForce, a public-private partnership with the mission of providing advanced manufacturing workers for private industry with the participation of County Technical Education schools and higher education on a statewide level.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Timothy Franklin, NJII vice president and chief operating officer, said, “We are delighted to have Ian assume this important new role for NJII. He will be working closely with industry and public officials in pursuit of economic development and outreach across all sectors of industry in addition to providing cross functional support for our vertically focused iLabs.”
“A key area of Ian’s role,” Dr. Franklin continued, “will be leading our government-supported New Jersey MarketShift program designed to strengthen New Jersey’s aerospace and defense supply chain, form a revitalized industry cluster in this sector and stimulate collaboration among industry suppliers.”
