NJ MarketShift, NJ Tech Council and Lockheed Martin Invite NJ Companies to Discuss Software Project for the Navy

Newark, NJ - NJ MarketShift and the NJ Tech Council is partnering with Lockheed Martin to host an initial meeting of NJ companies interested in exploring collaboration possibilities associated with developing smart instrumentation for Navy ships.
The focus of the discussion will be on a topic Lockheed Martin calls Condition Based Maintenance.  The essence of the problem is this:  how to smartly instrument Navy equipment onboard ship, record the behavior of that equipment (in port and at-sea), store the data (offboard ship) and mine the data by ship/equipment/use/environment/etc. to identify key behaviors.  The software will then be used on-board and within the logistics community to predict failures/degradation to ultimately ensure that all systems are fully operational during all underway periods.

Lockheed Martin is interested to understand how existing NJ companies can participate in solving these problems: instrument/record, store, mine data, and create predictive software apps for Navy users.

We invite you to attend a meeting at Rutgers Student Center at 124 College Avenue on December 9th (in advance of our Data Summit) to discuss this in detail with Lockheed Martin officials.  The meeting will be held at the Red Line Room on the Ground Floor from 1 to 2:30 PM.

For more information or to RSVP please contact Paul Frank at pfrank@njtc.org.  If you would like to sign up for the NJ Tech Council Data Summit, starting at 2:30 PM upstairs in the Fireside Lounge, please click here.

NJ MarketShift is an initiative of NJIT’s New Jersey Innovation Institute designed to strengthen New Jersey’s aerospace and defense supplier network through tools, programs, and services that build collaboration, innovation, and diversification.
