Trenton, NJ — Eric Strauss reports in NJBIZ that the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority is hoping to boost its effectiveness through staff development, partnering with Thomas Edison State University to help employees complete college degree programs, the two announced Tuesday.
Thomas Edison and the NJRA said in a news release that a recent survey found that 61 percent of employers offer undergraduate tuition assistance, while 59 percent offer graduate tuition assistance.
“The partnership with Thomas Edison allows the NJRA employees to continually grow in their respective roles to serve the community,” Leslie Anderson, NJRA’s executive director, said in a prepared statement.
“Providing the staff the opportunity grow personally and professionally strengthens our effectiveness as an organization,” Anderson said.

NJRA offers risk-based capital for urban redevelopment efforts.
“We are thrilled to partner with an organization as important to the livelihood to New Jersey as the NJRA, to assist their employees in finishing their college degrees,” Janet Eickhoff, Thomas Edison’s associate vice president of strategic partnerships, said in a statement.
“Successful leaders, like Leslie, set an example for their staff as she, herself, is now enrolled in the university’s Master of Science in management degree program in public service administration and leadership,” Eickhoff added.
The partnership was created through the university’s Corporate Choice program, the release said.
