NJHF Honors 16 Rutgers Faculty Members with 2015 Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Research Awards

New Brunswick, NJ - New Jersey Health Foundation honored 19 faculty members from Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine with 2015 Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Research Awards, which were presented at individual school convocations. Each winner, selected by his/her school, received a framed award and an honorarium to be used to advance his/her teaching or research abilities during the course of the coming year.
 The Excellence in Teaching Awards program was started 26 years ago to recognize the teaching ability of outstanding faculty members. The Excellence in Research Awards program began eight years ago to recognize faculty members for outstanding research performed during the academic year.

“We are delighted to present these awards to deserving faculty members who serve as examples to all of us by advancing their professions and excelling in research and education,” noted George F. Heinrich, M.D., vice chair and CEO of New Jersey Health Foundation. 

Excellence in Teaching Awards were presented to:

  • Jean Daniel Eloy, MD, Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
  • Pamela A. Ohman Strickland, PhD, MS, Associate Professor, Biostatistics, Rutgers School of Public Health
  • Abhinav P. Wadkar, BDS, MDS, Assistant Professor, Restorative, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine
  • Daniel Pilch, PhD, Associate Professor, Pharmacology, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
  • Emine Erchikan Abali, PhD, Associate Professor, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
  • Christian White, D.O., Assistant Professor, Geriatrics & Gerontology, Assistant Professor, Psychiatry, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Edna Cadmus, PhD, RN, Clinical Professor, Rutgers School of Nursing
