New Jersey is home to world-class pharmaceutical, biotech, health care, medical device companies, and other knowledge-intensive firms and their related R&D. These companies are actively seeking ways to partner with European companies to enhance transatlantic competitiveness through technical tie-ups and cooperating on technology and innovation.
Attendees will explore models that are effective in enabling companies to find and develop the skilled workforce they need to meet the changing job requirements.
An overview of MechaForce, a statewide program, which aims to prepare 500 New Jerseyans to become apprentices in over 50 manufacturing firms will be presented. MechaForce is modeled on the German dual track employment structure.
The Business Forums are funded by a grant from the Delegation of the European Union to the United States. NJII’s consortium partners are the European American Chamber of Commerce- New Jersey (EACCNJ) and the Strengthening the Mid-Atlantic Region for Tomorrow (SMART) organization.
