The new registry, approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), will enable radiologists to easily comply with CMS’ 2016 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). It also will save them time and reporting costs, and help them avoid a 6 percent payment adjustment for not reporting.
PQRS measures how well providers have complied with best practices, and requires each provider to report on at least nine quality metrics annually or risk reductions in their Medicare payments.
Starting in 2019, Medicare payments can increase by as much as 10 percent for providers who both report to PQRS and perform well compared to other providers.
Providers who participate in the registry will benefit from NJII’s extensive, nationally recognized registry experience.
SaferMD, a patient-safety organization and neutral third-party auditor of medical communications, is known for helping healthcare providers meet the highest standards of patient safety by decreasing communication failures that injure patients.
SaferMD will exhibit the registry at the Radiology Business Management Association’s 2016 Radiology Summit Conference in Colorado Springs, April 24-27.
For more information on the registry, contact NJII at 973-642-4055 or [email protected].
