Trenton, NJ - You have probably heard from us this week via e-blast or another method of communication, but when you are in the midst of the application periods for NJ-DOL Training Grants…there is no time to lose.
Workforce Development Training Grants provide an incredible opportunity for NJ companies like yours to upgrade the skills of your current staff and/or train new employees. With the deadlines rapidly approaching, we wanted to ensure that you were aware of their availability. Many of you know that the process is exact and demanding, and NJMEP maintains a superior track record for application approval and Grant completion.
NJMEP always begins this process with a full Corporate Assessment (at no cost to you) that assists us in supporting your actual needs. We then work with your team to select courses that improve (both) your company and your staff. Our goal is to always identify and implement the programs that best support the certification(s) and industry credentials that add value to your business.
To finish off the week – I’d like to provide a recap of what your firm might be most interested in when pursuing an available Training Grant:

Customized Training Grant – Individual Company
This is a program developed for and executed in your facility for (only) your team. These courses include:
  • Lean Transformation
  • ISO Process – towards Certification
  • ISO – 2015 Revisions for Re-Certification
  • Food Organization & Safety
  • Business Development – Sales & Marketing
  • Supervisory Development / Leadership / Business Communication

Customized Training Grant – Multiple Companies – Consortia

This is where we combine smaller firms to reduce the impact on production, while training a smaller number of the staff. Typically these programs require classroom training at an alternate location, plus some site-specific instruction at your facility.
Currently NJMEP is considering these in the Food Organization & Safety Area, but will revisit in other areas if interest will sustain the process.

Talent Development Centers – Advanced Manufacturing
This is where NJMEP is teaming with our Colleges & Universities to provide training for Incumbent workers and new hires in a variety of areas. This program will look to link interested companies with educational opportunities to grow your businesses and strengthen your staff.
I would highlight encourage you to act on this as soon as possible. Please feel free to reach out to us at NJMEP to discuss your needs, get a no-cost Corporate Assessment and begin building your business through education.

Regards,

John W. Kennedy, Ph.D.
CEO, NJMEP
