Ridgefield Park, NJ - Joshua Burd, of NJBIZ writes, “A retail packaging firm and a technology incubator have signed long-term leases totaling more than 21,000 square feet at two Ridgefield Park office buildings owned by KABR Group. In a news release, KABR said Sonoco Display & Packaging signed an 11-year lease for 16,000 square feet at 55 Challenger Road, which the company owns in partnership with The Kushner Cos. The building is part of the recently upgraded Overpeck Corporate Centre off Interstate 95.
KABR and Kushner were represented by Jeremy Neuer, senior vice president of CBRE, while Chip Watson, Tim Cadigan and Matt Turse of Avison Young represented Sonoco.
“Division growth and an increasing demand for a more collaborative and responsive work environment drove the decision to relocate our New Jersey sales and design office,” Philippe Erhart, division vice president and general manager of Sonoco Display and Packaging, said in a prepared statement. “We evaluated numerous options and are excited about the benefits and improvements our new office at 55 Challenger provides.
“With this move, we’ve created an agile design center of excellence that will foster increased collaboration, innovation and creativity for our customers and our team.”
Meantime, Walnut Capital Group relocated from Englewood to fill a 5,600-square-foot space at 100 Challenger Road, the news release said. The tenant, which serves emerging technology companies, signed a five-year lease.
The 150,000-square-foot office building is also home to KABR’s corporate headquarters and new amenities under a recently completed, $1 million capital improvement program.
