Two other Jersey institutions also were ranked in the Top 100 of the top national universities: Rutgers University – New Brunswick (No. 70) and Stevens Institute of Technology (three-way tie No. 71).
Four other New Jersey schools made the Top 200: Seton Hall (tied for No. 118), Rutgers-Newark and New Jersey Institute of Technology (tied for No. 135), and Montclair State (tied for No. 176).
The Top 25 national institutions of higher learning, according to U.S. News & World Report, are as follows:

In a separate list for national liberal arts colleges, Drew University was ranked No. 108. Williams College in Massachusetts was the top-ranking school in that category, followed by Amherst, Wellesley, Middlebury, Swarthmore, Bowdoin, Carleton, Pomona, Claremont and Davidson.
In the rankings for regional schools (North), The College of New Jersey received the highest honors of the state’s institutions, coming in third place behind Providence College (No. 1) and Fairfield University (No. 2).
Other colleges on the regional list were Rowan (No. 20); Rider (No. 23); Ramapo (No. 27); Rutgers-Camden (No. 32); Monmouth (No. 38); Stockton (No. 51); Fairleigh Dickinson (No. 67); St. Peter’s (No. 99); Caldwell (No. 104); William Paterson (No. 104); The College of St. Elizabeth (No. 122); Georgian Court (No. 122) and Centenary (No. 131).
