To All STEM Education Stakeholders,
This is a reminder that we need your help!
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), passed by an overwhelming bipartisan majority, has established new funding streams that states and districts can employ to support informal, out of school, and summer education programs.
Afterschool and summer learning programs have enthusiastically embraced STEM programming and research has demonstrated that high-quality out-of-school STEM learning programs are strong contributors to improving learning and engagement in STEM fields.
The Coalition is still asking STEM stakeholders and interested organizations to join onto a sign-on letter that calls for state policymakers to utilize the new state and district-level decision making power to employ afterschool, informal, and summer learning programs as an integral part of efforts to improve STEM education for all students.
If your organization is interested in joining the sign-on letter and hasn't contacted us yet, please email Lindsey Gardner from the Coalition at [email protected] with your organization's name and contact info.
The deadline to sign on to this important letter is Wednesday, August 31.
Thank you for your continued support of the STEM Education Coalition.
Sincerely,
James F. Brown
Executive Director
