Galloway Township, NJ – Stockton University, in collaboration with Rothman Institute, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation will host a daylong conference titled, The Orthopedic Trauma Patient: Trauma Care Through Rehabilitation. The conference will be held on Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on the main Galloway campus. The conference will focus on the importance of an interdisciplinary care approach in various patient-care settings, including trauma evaluation, acute care and rehabilitation.
“This conference provides a forum for practitioners to examine patient care after traumatic injury through an interdisciplinary approach that focuses on the integration of surgical management and post-operative care through rehabilitation,” explained Theresa Bartolotta, dean of the School of Health Sciences. “Participants will apply principles of evidence-based practice in the treatment of patients with traumatic orthopedic injuries in order to affect successful surgical and rehabilitative outcomes.”
Featured topics include: evaluation and surgical management of shoulder and elbow trauma; rehabilitation of patients following ankle and foot trauma; evaluation of the patient with hip and pelvic trauma; and nursing management of patients following long bone trauma.
