Philadelphia, PA. – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced its selection of New Jersey State Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt (6th District) as a state Legislator of the Year for 2015. Assemblywoman Lampitt is the prime sponsor of A-2477, which authorizes the prescription and dispensing of biosimilar products in New Jersey. Assemblywoman Lampitt received this honor during the 2015 BIO International Convention.

New Brunswick, NJ - The Rutgers University Board of Governors has approved Rutgers 2030, the most comprehensive physical master plan in the university’s history. The long-term plan envisions development at Rutgers University – Camden, Rutgers University – Newark and Rutgers University – New Brunswick. The decision was guided by the priorities of the university’s Strategic Plan – which was approved in 2014 – and incorporates Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS).
Washington D.C. - According to Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), "A year from now, the 2016 presidential primaries will be over, and the nominees of both parties will need to focus in earnest on the broad interests of the American people, not just the parochial concerns of their respective bases. South Orange, NJ - According to New Jersey Business magazine, "Hackensack University Health Network (HackensackUHN) and Seton Hall University (SHU) sign a definitive agreement to form a new, four-year school of medicine. Earlier this year, HackensackUHN and SHU signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the establishment of the school."
Trenton, NJ – Legislation that would change New Jersey laws and regulations to help businesses take advantage of crowdfunding was released by the Senate Commerce Committee on Monday. Specifically, S-712/A-2073 would provide exemptions from registration with the NJ Bureau of Securities for companies that want to offer intrastate crowdfunding investment opportunities. The total investment cannot exceed $1 million, and the investment from any single purchaser is capped at $5,000.
Trenton, NJ – According to New Jersey Business Magazine, “Actions taken by the Board of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) today under the Grow New Jersey Assistance Program (Grow NJ) include projects that support the attraction of businesses in the manufacturing industry that hold the promise of creating over 450 new jobs and leveraging the private investment of more than $26.2 million in New Jersey’s economy. Advanced under the New Jersey Economic Opportunity Act of 2013, Grow NJ is the state’s main job creation incentive program.”
